Interim Country Lead Poland: responsible for setup until handover

KPA manages location, qualified professional partners, entity-formation coordination, recruiting, team building, processes, and ramp-up – until your own management takes over.

Short answer

An interim Country Lead manages the agreed Poland setup until the documented handover.

A managing director, representative, or executive position is created only through a separate appointment. KPA coordinates the agreed work streams and hands them over in a documented state to your management.

When setting up a location, internal management, HR, Finance, and IT often work in parallel with legal, tax, payroll, real estate, and recruiting partners. Each individual service may be professionally correct and still remain unconnected. KPA consolidates these streams into a responsible setup plan.

Operational responsibility

What does the Interim Country Lead control?

01 · Target operating model

Setup planning

Function, target size, location options, initial roles, partner requirements, and handover point are structured. Once the fundamental decision is open, the process begins with the Poland Launch Check.

02 · Location

Coordinate specialist partners

KPA brings together the necessary legal, tax, registry, notary, payroll, real estate, and other specialist partners in a project plan. The specialist services are provided by the respective qualified partners.

03 · Company

Connect formal establishment

Agreed establishment steps are linked with market, location, and setup planning. More on the package: set up a company in Poland.

04 · Key roles

Recruiting as a work stream

KPA determines which roles are needed first and in what order the team should be built. Recruiting is important, but not the overarching positioning.

05 · Control

Processes and Reporting

Interfaces, decision-making paths, and reporting are prepared. Which decisions KPA is allowed to make or prepare is determined in writing before the mandate begins.

06 · Scale-up

Handover-ready state

The agreed work streams are brought together up to the defined target state and handed over to permanent management in a documented form.

04

Interim Country Lead and Handover

KPA manages the operational setup until the agreed target state. Duration and fees depend on scope, responsibility, and readiness for handover and are agreed upon in writing before the start.

Important distinction

Operational management is not automatically a position as an officer.

The term “interim CEO” makes the responsibility for development understandable. It does not replace a corporate appointment or a power of attorney.

Operational role

Contractually agreed management

The Interim Country Lead coordinates and manages the setup services specified in writing.

Formal role

Only with a separate appointment

A managing director, board member, representative, or other officer function arises solely through a separate legal appointment and explicit agreement.

Local leadership open

Setup before permanent staffing

  • Open risks and decisions transparent

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the Interim Country Lead Poland

What does an Interim Country Lead take over?

The interim country lead manages the target vision, location, specialist partners, entity-formation coordination, key roles, recruiting, processes, reporting, and operational ramp-up until the documented handover to its own management.

Is a CEO for a limited period a formal managing director position?

No. The formulation is an understandable analogy for operational setup responsibility. A managing director, representative, or executive function exists only with a separate legal appointment and explicit agreement.

Is the interim country lead allowed to legally represent the company?

Only if there is a separate valid power of attorney or formal appointment. Without such a basis, no representative or executive authority is claimed.

Does KPA provide legal and tax advice?

No. Legal, tax, registration, and notarial services are provided by appropriately qualified specialist partners. KPA is responsible for the agreed analysis, development planning, coordination, and project management.

Is recruiting part of the mandate?

Recruiting can be an agreed work stream of the site setup. It serves to build the required key roles and teams, but it is not the overarching role of the Interim Country Lead.

When should an Interim Country Lead be deployed?

The role makes sense when a company wants to establish a site or a team in Poland, but does not yet have its own experienced person on site.

How long does the mandate last?

The mandate runs until the agreed target state and the orderly handover. Duration and handover criteria are determined in writing before the start.

How is the handover carried out?

Project status, work streams, open decisions, and risks are documented and handed over to the in-house Country Manager, Managing Director, or another permanently responsible person.

What does an interim country lead mandate cost?

The fee depends on scope, duration, work streams, and agreed responsibility. The specific price is set in a written offer before the start of the mandate.

Will the Poland Launch Check be credited to the interim mandate?

The confirmed full credit applies to the Company Formation and Detailed Market Analysis package for €11,900 net. There is no automatic credit applied to the Interim Country Lead mandate.
